Streetbees App Review

Welcome to my Streetbees App review where we’ll “bee” looking into whether or not this app is worth the time of actually installing it in the first place.

A lot of these apps can be a total bust and you’ll find yourself taking it off your phone just as quickly as you put it on there.

These types of apps have become very popular with people looking to earn a bit of extra money, but finding ones that actually work like this one I reviewed a while back or getting stuck with a lemon like this one is always a bit hit-and-miss.

Luckily for you, I’m going to go through it and let you know if it’s worth it so you don’t have to waste your time.

What Is The Streetbees App About

The Steetbees app was borne out of a necessity to bridge an information gap in 2015 and is now active in 87 countries so chances are that even when you’re traveling you can still use it to earn some extra cash.

Talking of extra cash, this is exactly what this is going to get you, some extra spending money, it’s not going to let you retire on the proceeds and the good thing is they even tell you that on their website so your expectations are set at a very reasonable level.

The app itself pays you for completing short surveys as well as carrying out simple tasks, for example taking a short video of your night out or making yourself a nice cup of tea.

The way the tasks are completed is done by way of a chat style interface as if you’re just texting a friend which they call conversational research .[su_divider top=”no”]

The Sign Up Process

The app is available on both Android and iOS so it’s just a matter of going to your respective store and installing it. Once you’ve installed it you need to put in your phone number, so they can send you a sms verification code, followed by your D.O.B. and it’s as simple as that.

One thing that wasn’t clear was how you get paid. Well, on the dashboard area there is a profile tab and it’s on that tab that you can put in your PayPal email so you can get paid.[su_divider top=”no”]

The Tasks

Tasks are actually called ‘live stories‘ which are loaded as soon as you open the app. Not sure if the ‘stories’ change as time goes by, I would assume so.

The ones I have at the moment are:

  • MY WORLD – This is where you tell them a bit more about yourself, lifestyle and habits regarding eating, cooking and shopping. This takes around 10 mins and you need to be at home cause you’ll be taking photos of what you have in your cupboards
  • LIFESTYLE – They want to know the same as the previous one?? OK, I understand a bit more now. Completing this one will open up paid stories. This takes 3 mins.
  • MOBILE NETWORK – You tell them about network usage and experience. 3 mins
  • YOUR MOBILE PHONE – Again, same as the one above. I decided to try this one and the first question was how am I feeling, I text ‘happy’, they replyed I had to use 4 words or more so I put ‘I am feeling happy’. The next question was to do with if I was thinking of changing phone provider any time soon which I’m not. I was then told this story isn’t for you.

I tried the mobile network one and that worked fine, once completed it is submitted for review before you get paid which they aim to get done in 24hrs.

So, I’ve completed all the stories apart from the mobile phone one and to be honest I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do next??

Well, it looks like I won’t be doing anything for now 🙁

no stories

So, it’s just a case of waiting I suppose.[su_divider top=”no”]

The Money

That’s a bit of a tough one for me at the moment seeing as “it’s a bit quiet” but I can tell you there have been reports of being paid £10 for a story.

For the stories that I did I will get £1, but that is just the gateway to the paid stories, which they don’t have at the moment….

The other way to earn money is by referring people, but it’s not clear how much you get paid. they clearly pay different rates depending on which part of the world you are, otherwise it would be a set amount regardless of where you are.

Another way to earn some money is by becoming an ambassador for Streetbees.

What they are looking for is someone who uses social media and can influence people to spread the word about Streetbees.

Again, the amount you get paid isn’t advertised so, that would be something you would find out when you applied for the position.

As an ambassador you’d get work with world-class brands such as Pepsi and L’Oreal.[su_divider top=”no”]

What Did I like

  • No payment Threshold – payments are made with each completed/approved task
  • Worldwide use
  • Quick and Easy tasks
  • Very easy to use
  • Payments by PayPal

What I Didn’t Like

  • No advertised rates for referrals or ambassadors
  • No tutorials
  • Very little opportunities to do tasks
  • Quite a few complaints about being paid for referrals

What Other Streetbees Think

In the process of this review I’ve come across quite a few complaints:

complaints

more complaintsSo, there seems to be a bit of a problem with payments, there is even people on the actual Streetbees website who are unhappy with situation:

What do I think

Before reading those complaints I thought that this app was actually one of the better ones, I think a lot of thought has gone into this app, it has quite a good interface which results in a good user experience.

The way they make use of the messenger type delivery is a fantastic way to do it.

The main problem seems to be that a lot of people, myself included, are having trouble even getting to complete any stories at all, let alone getting paid for them.

Now, that could mean that not a lot of companies want to make use of this service because having been around since 2015 although relatively new you would expect them to have a bigger repository of businesses that would participate.[su_divider top=”no”]

Final Thoughts

Can you really make money with this app? I really don’t know at the moment, I’ll try and keep the post updated just so you get a better idea, you’ll know when I know.

If it was to all work like it’s meant to then this has got to be as good as I’ve seen for a while, but they have to get the problems with payments sorted out first and foremost.

Who wants to sit around and complete tasks if you’re not even going to get paid? It’s like going to work and the boss telling you after you’ve done the work that he’s not going to pay you for it.

However much I like this, until I can get more stories myself to complete I’m going to have to give this a Not Approved stamp.

What Now

You can carry on looking for apps that pay very little money or none at all as the case may be or you could spend your time doing something that would earn you money for years to come.

What I am talking about is Affiliate Marketing. Now I know you probably haven’t a clue what that is, I didn’t either before I got involved in it, that was over 4 years ago now, probably a bit longer than that actually.

Did you know that with Affiliate Marketing you have a fantastic opportunity to turn a hobby or something you’re passionate about into a full time income.

The main thing you need is a website.

Don’t know the first thing about building a website or how to make money from one? Don’t worry I didn’t either when I first started, but if I can do it then anyone can do it, believe me.

The good thing is you don’t even need to pay anything to see if it’s for you.

I hope this review of the Streetbees app has helped you out in some way or you may have already used it and want to let everyone know how you got on with it.

  1. Meh. Just seems like one of those time wasters. One of those things where you spend a lot of time doing stuff only to get hardly anything. Not something that you can earn a living off of or create wealth off of. That is, as you say, the idea of this app though. But I’d want no part of it because it feeds into the same kind of mentality as coupons, sacrificing potential quality just to save a few bucks, returning used bottles for 5 cents, etc. Scrambling around, scavenging for a dollar here and a dollar there. What does it add up to? Is it worth your time? It depends on how you view time and money but for most people, that caters to their perspectives on money and time. This reeks of scarcity mindset so I would want to steer way clear of this. I guess you could say it’s not my cup of tea ?. And that’s before all the stuff about people not getting paid

    • It surpises me the amount of people who are willing to trade their time for such small amounts of money, if only they channelled their energy into different avenues they would find there is no limit to the amount of money they could earn.
