Increase Your Chances

Here are a few additional tips for increasing your passive income on Foap:

  • Upload a large volume of photos. The more photos you have in your portfolio, the more likely buyers are to find something they like.
  • Focus on popular subjects. People are more likely to buy photos of popular subjects, such as travel, food, and nature.
  • Use relevant keywords and tags. This will help buyers find your photos when they’re searching for specific images, add at least 5 tags to increase the photo’s ranking.
  • Promote your Foap profile on social media. This is a great way to reach new potential buyers and increase your visibility.
  • Run Foap missions. Foap missions are specific requests for photos from buyers. If you can complete missions quickly and efficiently, you can make a good amount of money.
  • know what sells. The best photos to take are the really natural ones rather than the obvious staged ones, companies and individuals are starting to look for something different in their photos so take advantage of that and give them what they want. There’s a latest sold tab in the app that you can see what is actually selling at this moment.
foap tags

By following these tips, you can increase your chances of success on Foap and start generating a decent amount of passive income from your photography skills.

To explain more about the potential for passive income on Foap, let’s consider an example. Imagine you upload 100 photos to Foap. Each photo is priced at $10. If all of your photos sell, you’ll earn $1,000.

Of course, it’s unlikely that all of your photos will sell. However, if you upload high-quality photos of popular subjects and promote your Foap profile on social media, you can realistically expect to sell a significant number of photos.

Even if you only sell a few photos per week, you can still generate a decent amount of passive income over time. For example, if you sell just 5 photos per week for $10 each, you’ll earn $2,600 per year.

Of course, the amount of money you make from Foap will depend on a number of factors, including the quality of your photos, the popularity of your subject matter, and how active you are on the app.

However, it’s definitely possible to generate a decent amount of passive income from Foap, even if you’re not a professional photographer.

Selling on Foap

The Foap marketplace is where the magic happens. It’s the platform that connects your photos with potential buyers and opens the door to passive income from your creative work.

Here’s how you can sell your photos on the Foap marketplace, maximize your potential for passive income, and set the right price for your images:

How to Sell Your Photos

Upload Your Best Shots: We’ve covered this in detail before, but it’s worth repeating – upload your best photos! High-quality, captivating images are more likely to catch the eye of potential buyers.

Tag and Describe Thoughtfully: When uploading your photos, be diligent about tagging and describing them. Use keywords that accurately describe your photo. A well-crafted description can provide context and attract potential buyers.

Categorize Your Photos: Choose the most suitable category for each of your images. This ensures your photos are presented to the right audience.

Pricing: We’ll dive deeper into pricing shortly, but it’s important to set a price you believe your photo is worth. Competitive pricing can help you stand out.

Keep an Eye on Missions: Don’t forget about Foap missions! Winning a mission can not only earn you a cash prize but also increase your photo’s visibility in the marketplace.

Passive Income Potential

The Foap marketplace offers significant potential for passive income. Here’s how it works:

Global Reach: Your photos can be seen and purchased by individuals, businesses, and creatives from around the world. This means a global market for your work.

Continuous Exposure: Once your photos are in the marketplace, they stay there until they’re purchased. There’s no time limit or expiration date, giving your portfolio an evergreen quality.

Multiple Purchases: The same photo can be purchased by multiple buyers. So, one popular image can generate multiple sales over time.

Growing Portfolio: As you continue to upload more photos, your portfolio expands, increasing the likelihood of consistent sales. The more you contribute, the more passive income you can potentially earn.

Instant Sales: When a buyer purchases one of your photos, you receive a notification, and the sale is processed instantly. Your earnings are credited to your Foap account, ready for withdrawal.

Pricing Best Practices

Pricing your photos effectively is crucial to attract buyers while ensuring your work is valued. Here are some best practices for setting the right prices:

Competitive Rates: Research similar photos in the marketplace and see what they’re priced at. Pricing your photos competitively can make them more appealing to buyers.

Start Reasonably: If you’re new to Foap, consider starting with lower prices to build your reputation and portfolio. As you gain recognition, you can adjust your pricing.

Quality vs. Price: High-quality photos can command higher prices. If your photo stands out, don’t hesitate to set a premium price.

Experiment: Don’t be afraid to experiment with pricing. Try different rates for similar photos and see what works best.

Consider the Market: Think about the potential buyers’ perspective. What would they be willing to pay for a photo like yours?

Alternative payout options

If you are unable to create a PayPal account, you may want to consider using a different service to sell your photos.

There are a number of other services that allow you to sell your photos, such as Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, and Alamy. These services offer a variety of payout options, including PayPal, Skrill, and bank transfer.

You may also want to consider other ways to make money from your photography skills. For example, you could sell your photos directly to businesses or individuals, or you could start a photography blog or website.

While there is no fixed income, some Foap users have reported making a significant income, especially when their photos align with popular trends or are well-suited for missions.

It’s essential to keep in mind that Foap is a platform where your earnings can grow over time. The more photos you upload and the more missions you participate in, the higher your potential for earnings.

    • For the amount of time that you spend taking the photos and uploading them not to mention then waiting for someone to buy them, I would like to think that my time could be better spent.

For all the products and services I review on this site there’s only one thing I know is more productive …. affiliate marketing. And the good thing is anyone can do it.

    • Hi Karen, you can have people in your photo and if you haven’t got their permission you would upload the photo under an editorial license.

I haven’t been able to find any restrictions on what can be submitted, but I’m sure if it isn’t allowed you wont be able to upload it in the first place.

  1. I do photography as a hobby. I heard about foap and gave it a try about 8 months ago. I uploaded about 150 photos – a mix of really good photos that have won prizes as well as some more candid stuff. I also tried uploading to a few other more traditional stock photography sites at around the same time. Foap is basically a stock photography site for the masses. Since that time I have made dozens of sales on the other sites where I am uploading. I have made zero sales on foap. I have most of the same photos uploaded to all of the stock sites that I am using, including foap. I stopped uploading to foap when my photos started to sell regularly on other sites. If you are interested in photography and you want to spend the time uploading your photos you should do some research and find the sites where there are a lot more sales happening. It takes a lot of time to upload photos and tag them etc so make it worth your while. I am now considering deleting my photos from foap because I still haven’t made a single sale there. Just my two cents.

    • Hey Joseph,
That is a lot of photos to upload and have nothing to show for it, my count is still at 2 and I have to say I haven’t been active on the site for a while now.
Glad to hear you’ve had some success on the other sites.
      Which ones do you prefer?

  2. When was all this posted? No dates or photos seems pretty fake to me.

    • Hi, thanks for taking the time to get in touch. First off you’re absolutely right there are no dates and that is something that I may think about adding at a later time, thanks for pointing that out. As for the photos I’m not sure what you mean, perhaps you could elaborate a little? There are 2 of my personal ones on the post.
Again you are absolutely right I did say I would rather spend my time doing something that earns me a lot more money than uploading photos because as you can see in the comments I haven’t exactly earned a king ransom from this.
The title to the post is ‘is Foap a scam’….no it’s not which is why I’ve approved it. Hope this clears up your concerns.

  3. Hello Sharon
Thanks for sharing, I have never heard of Foap but this sound like a good and easy way to earn money online from home.
$5 a photo is a really good price if you can sell say 10 photos a day, gives you a reason to snap more pictures when out.
What I`m wondering is, do I have to be a professional photographer for my pictures to be accepted? I’m asking because I’m not exactly a good photographer.
I like the program more because it`s free to join, I tend to stay away from online programs where I have to pay some membership amount.
It sounds easy enough to join Foap, would like to try it out but you forgot to mention something important, how much must a member have in foap account to cash out?

    • Hi Roamy,
Don’t worry if you don’t think you’re very good at taking photos, believe me I’m no professional, It seems the more spontaneous and natural your photos are the more they are liked, so snap away πŸ™‚
Sorry I forgot to say how much the cash out threshold is πŸ™ Let me tell you now you get paid as soon as one of your photos sell, there is no minimum limit.
Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

  4. Hello sharon, I would have to agree with you as I was on the edge of getting the app but wasn’t sure how legit they are. It’s pretty simple too and the fact that your images can be sold to other people is a bonus. I just wished the split was 50 50 I was hoping for something like 70 30 atleast.

    • Hi Yunier,
Foap is totally legit so you’ve no worries there. Yeah I suppose the split could be better, but you’ve got to remember they’re the ones with the marketplace so you don’t have any marketing to do, and remember once you’ve uploaded your photos they can be sold time and time again πŸ™‚

  5. Thank you for this review. It is worth the read.
It is understandable for new or not-so-popular programs to be doubted since scams are scattered anywhere. Foap is not an exemption of these doubts. However, through this article, it proves that the program is not a scam.
I like this write-up since it talks about the limitations of the program and people should not rely on themselves mostly.

    • You’re absolutely right Chanan there are scams literally everywhere you look which is a bit sad really that there are people out there that just want to rip you off πŸ™
Foap is definitely not one of those.
      Glad you liked the review.
Are you going to try it?

  6. Hi Sharon, Thanks for introducing Foap in your post. I’m actually quite passionate on taking photograph. But i couldn’t afford a high-end DSLR like Canon 5D mark3 or so in order to make some money with this skill. After knew about this, i guess i see some light on where i should start to work for since i have a decent smartphone to take some good photograph.

    Appreciate on your sharing

    • Hi Nico,
Don’t worry about having a high end camera, the cameras on todays smartphones are plenty good enough and you simply upload straight from the app.
It’s good to be passionate and I’m sure you’ll do well using FOAP.

  7. Hey Sharon,
Thanks for this honest review. I say honest, because it’s commendable that you admitted you still haven’t sold any photos. Do you know how much money can be made monthly using Foap and do the photos need to be high quality/professional? When you say upload them to Foap, I am wondering if there is an app for it? That would make it really easy and it would be like uploading to Instagram and getting paid!

    • Hi Craig,
UPDATE: I’ve sold 2 of my photos πŸ™‚
You’re never going to earn massive amounts with this and it also depends how active you are in uploading and how popular your photos are.
With regards to the quality most phones these days have a good quality camera so quality isn’t an issue and as for being professional the more natural the photos are the better so you don’t have to be a professional photographer by any means.
Foap has an app for both Android and iOS systems that you can download from their respective app stores.

  8. FOAP sounds like a great way to boost your income with very little additional work. This may be a difficult way to receive a full time income though as you only make $5 per photo.

I suppose there is a chance you could hit big with a few popular photographs. What kind of photos do you find sell the best?

    • I would say that the best kind of photos that sell on FOAP are the ones that are taken in a natural setting, don’t force the subject.
The ones I have sold are of group settings at a football match, but there are many different situations you could use to get that photo that others would want to buy.
Another important factor is tagging, you must make sure you have relevant tags on your photos so that people that search for that phrase find your photo.

  9. Wow I have never heard of FOAP and good to know you approve of it. It is a good idea in theory, but I guess like anything-in order for it to work you have to spend quite a bit of time on it. I imagine photographers might be attracted to this app quite a bit. I mean, over time you could have a lot of photos up and it is kind of like an investment for the future. But it also depends on how you want to spend your time. But hey, a few dollars extra here and there can be useful. I might give FOAP a go!

    • You’re right about having to spend a bit of time on it, I haven’t been as active as I could have been on it due to time but just recently I actually managed to sell 2 of my photos, which I was really quite happy about.
The thing with FOAP is those photos you uploaded will always be available for sale so you could make more sales months or even years down the road.

    • Hey Katie thanks for the info, really good to hear that some of your photos were sold, I’m just not very good at taking photos I guess πŸ™ will keep trying though. I must admit I haven’t been involved in the community as much as I’d of liked, but will try and be more active and hopefully will get one of mine sold soon πŸ™‚
