Is Cashcrate.Com A Scam?

Is Cashcrate.com a scam? Well that’s exactly what we’re going to be finding out today in this review. There is an absolute abundance of GPT (get paid to) sites out there at the moment which tells you that this particular way of making some extra cash is extremely popular, but unfortunately that doesn’t always mean that every opportunity is a good one with some companies just looking to exploit the people who sign up.

is cashcrate.com a scam
I’ve reviewed a fair number of these types of sites and I’ve got to say it’s not looking good, but I’m always prepared to give people the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise.

So without further ado let’s dive right in.[su_divider top=”no”] #1 recommendation

what is cashcrate.com about

Launched in 2006 Cashcrate claims to have 7 million members throughout the world. These members carry out different tasks such as surveys, play games and participate in paid offer or even watch videos and in return for completing these you get paid.[su_divider top=”no”]

first impressions

I’ve got to say that at the moment It’s one of the better platforms out there, the navigation is easy and straightforward, they have their own blog, they have their own forum and they have a contact page which believe me isn’t always the case with a lot of these GPT sites, like the one i reviewed not so long ago here, that one was incredibly hard to find out what it was you were meant to be doing.[su_divider top=”no”]

signing up, any problems?

First of you just put in your email address and a password after which you’re required to put in your name, address, date of birth and your ethnic background although this is an optional step.

After that you are asked to answer a few questions for which you’ll get $0.50.

These are demographical questions to hopefully ensure you’ll be better matched to the available surveys, so it’s worth the time to fill it in.

They reckon the time to fill it in was only going to take 3 minutes, but it took almost 10 minutes to complete.

Before diving head first into it all i decided to take a quick look at the quick start video, unfortunately it wasn’t there so i couldn’t.[su_divider top=”no”]

what you’ll be doing

The dashboard at Cashcrate is simply to navigate with 8 options to choose from, for my first try i thought I’d try my luck at surveys basically because on other sites i don’t really have much luck with them so it will be interesting to see if this is any different.

After filling out 15 screening questions, I’m then taken to another page where i fill in some questions about smartphones and if I’m going to be buying one soon.

Looks good because i am going to be upgrading in a month or two. Unfortunately I’m not a match (deja vu here from all the other survey sites I’ve tried)

survey rejection
Anyway I’ll press on because as they say ‘no worries just try the next one’.

So I’ve just spent another 15 minutes and the same thing happens, but hey no worries just try the next one.

I don’t think so.

I’m going to take a look at their new addition Tap Research which is 15 quick questions which will pay up to 500 cents.

WOW i earned $0.01 and i chose the 500 cent one.#1 recommendation

Their ‘best surveys’ section shows this

surveysThat’s right, 2 surveys that are going to pay you a lousy amount IF you qualify for them. And this is why i don’t really like these types of site.

You’re basically going to be wasting your time for a pittance if that.[su_divider top=”no”]

referral program

Another way to earn money at Cashcrate ( who am i kidding, another way, i haven’t even earned anything the normal ways yet!) is to make use of their referral program which i have to say is probably one of the best I’ve seen in this industry.

For starters, they make use of a multi tiered system which has four different levels depending on how many referrals you have which gives you the chance to increase your commission

You earn the commission from 3 different area namely:

  1. surveys
  2. best surveys
  3. offers

The four levels are:

  • Level 1 Bronze, which is where everyone starts and that gives you 20% of your referrals earnings in the 3 areas mentioned above. When your referral make it to $10.00 you get a $3.00 bonus.
  • Level 2 Silver, which you need either 25 referrals or $100 from first level referrals to qualify for 25% of earnings. At this stage there is also a $1 referral bonus once a referral completes a survey.
  • Level 3 Gold, where you’re going to need 100 active referrals or $250 from first level referrals to qualify for 25% of earnings which is the same as silver. The only other benefit for gold level is that payments become weekly.
  • Level 4 Elite, you’re going to really need to ramp it up to qualify for the 30% on offer here. You need 500 active referrals or $750 first level referral earnings.

I would have to say that the referral program is your best bet for making some with this site, all the rest is just pocket change.[su_divider top=”no”]

is it legit?

Absolutely, i have no doubt in my mind as to the legitimacy of this site. They also have a ‘payment wall’ where they show you proof of what people have been earning, i just know that to earn what they are showing, unless you are on the gold level, you are going to be getting your money monthly so showing cheques of $20.62 in a month doesn’t really cut it for me, you may well be different and feel that is more than worth your time.[su_divider top=”no”]

complaints

Being rejected for a lot of surveys seems to be a popular complaint

complaintscomplaintsmore complaintsAnd to be honest that was my experience with them as well.
Another complaint was the fact that although $20 at first seems like a low payout threshold, when the surveys are only paying so little it takes an absolute age to reach it.[su_divider top=”no”]

final thoughts

Would i stick with it? No and not because it’s a scam because it’s not, it’s just i know my time is more valuable than that.

If you want to do it for a bit of fun when you have some downtime then that’s fine, just don’t expect to be earning a lot from it.

All that being said it is a legitimate site and as such should be applauded because there are so many out there that are not and it’s for that reason that I’m going to approve this and if this is your type of thing then go for it.

so what now?

If you’ve had enough of spending your time doing things that are never going to pay you what your time is worth then perhaps it’s time to look at something else.

I’ve been doing affiliate marketing for a while and it gives me a very nice lifestyle.

Now don’t let the name scare you, it’s really very straightforward. The most important thing is to be taught the right way of doing it from the start.

I was lucky enough to find that place and I’m more than happy to share that with you.

  1. Hi Sharon,

I totally agree with you on this one! Cashcrate is not a scam but I also know my time is more valuable than filling out a bunch of surveys, especially if they are feeding me a constant “mismatch”!
No offence to those who might make a living off of doing so, but this method off making money online is not for me.
Now for the number one recommendation, that place is 100% worthwhile! For those of you who want to build a real business online don’t take Sharon’s recommendation lightly, it is the real deal!
